Before moving onto a translation of one of the tracks from Abd Al Malik’s latest album, I wanted to post this translation of another song by Bénabar. The reason being that his lyrics are perfect little packets of French vocabulary.
I realise it was less than a week ago that I posted a translation of L’Effet Papillon but there you go.
The song À La Campagne (In the country) is like The Tardis – you can’t quite believe that there are so many lyrics crammed into four minutes of song.
If you find a bunch of songs with lyrics full of vocabulary such as this one, if you keep playing them, and if you learn their meaning, then it will truly help in your ability to find ways to express yourself in French.
It anyone can come up with an English equivalent to the following phrase please let me know. This is used to imitate a stereotypical French farmer.
