Babylon Circus at The Jazz Café

October 14, 2009 at 4:49 pm Print This Post Print This Post

Fellow Londoners should be interested to know that I have just discovered that Babylon Circus are playing at the Jazz Café, Camden Town on October 26th. Details here.

You can find details of other locations on their current tour on their website.

Their latest album, the first for five years, La Belle Étoile, was released in March and I still haven’t heard it. Trying to buy it today I realised that it’s unavailable to buy in the UK on iTunes or Amazon, and therefore probably anywhere in the UK online – hopefully this will change soon.

UPDATE: I’ve just been told that the album will be available in the UK iTunes store towards the end of November.

I’ve translated a couple of Babylon Circus tracks before, De la musique et du bruit and, as I’ve mentioned previously, the first French song I ever learnt the lyrics to J’aurais bien voulu.

ah, but you should listen to their new album online! I had to get used to it at first, really loving the ‘old stuff’. The new stuff is..new..but/and i got addicted after listening to the songs a few times. You will enjoy seeing them live, I did a few weeks ago in The Netherlands!

I’m really looking forward to it – I’m glad I found out before I missed it!

The new album is really worth it, although it’s different, a bit softer sometimes than the older ones.
I want to thank you for translating J’aurais bien voulu & De la musique et du bruit, I couldn’t translate it myself completely.. now they are really clear! Hope you’ll translate more songs later!
