You know me – if I had my way I would just write blog entries about La Ruda and Mademoiselle K. But tonight I only have about an hour to write this entry so I have chosen a song which is very simple lyrically but contains some common, useful French phrases. The sort of phrases which you are likely to be able to construct grammatically but should also be ready to fly out of your mouth whenever you need them.
Now, I’ve already abandoned one blog entry today because I realised halfway through that I really didn’t like the song I was translating due to a very irritating bit of whispering (I hate French whispering) during one of the verses. I was tempted to abandon this translation also when I recognised the religious theme as that is not really my thing at all ce n’est pas vraiment mon truc du tout – however, the song is good, the singer is great and I’m buggered if I’m going to search for a third song to translate tonight having already spent £1.68 on iTunes. Oh, If I’d known.
